Middle Grades Guitar (Ages 11-14)

Students will prepare to play along with friends or participate in a jam by learning basic folk chords. We aim to strum along to songs on day one as we learn the fundamentals of rhythm. The goal of the class is to introduce music as a fun group activity, while preparing students for community jams and/or more advanced classes.

Beginner Guitar

Designed for students with basic rhythm skills and the ability to strum chords and play songs, the Intro to Guitar Improv will prepare you for your first guitar solo! Learn music theory, scales, and other basic techniques that guitarists use to form solos. Taught by one of the area’s most in demand guitarists, James Lee Smith.
